This has been a very sad day for me. I lost my oldest brother Rick this morning. We didn't often get along but never the less I loved him very much. He is the one who brought God into my life and for that I will be forever grateful. We had a very dysfunctional family from growing up with alcoholic parents. He was the oldest of us four. When we were young we would spend hours just drinking coffee and talking. I love you Rick and will miss you always.
Here is one of the other dogs I take care of. Gunther was a rescue and is a pretty old man. He still loves to play. His favorite toy is a stuffed lizard that we call Lizzie...I just love him!!!

My Sweet Abbie Rose

Here is my sweet Dixie Lou looking over  at my house for me from her bedroom window...Where is Auntie Lois at?? Isn't she coming over today to play???
The cold has returned. I don't like it the older I get but it does help get in the holiday spirit. A little over a week and thanksgiving will be here. We are going to put up the Christmas tree this weekend. I have my new hallmark ornaments all ready to place on the tree. I think the whole tree is nothing but hallmark ornaments now.   I donated a bear to the golden treasures animal rescue's silent auction over the weekend. I hope it made some money for the dogs.   Dixie and Ellie Mae are doing good. This was Ellie's first snow and she loved it. Abbie doesn't like the snow or getting wet. She is such a delicate little girl.

Well I went to get my ultrasound yesterday. When they took me to the room they said they wanted to take 2 more regular pictures then they would do the ultrasound. So they did that and told me to go back out and sit in the waiting room and a radiologist would read them. About ten minutes later she came out and told me to go home. There was nothing there. It was folded tissue. So I guess my Lord isn't ready for me yet.   :o)
Well it looks like summer is over. It's starting to get cold. I can't stand the cold the older I get.  Time is really flying by this month. I have been leaving Abbierose more. She does so well when we are gone. She doesn't have to be crated. She is really such a good girl. She is doing so well with her disease. No major set backs.  I keep busy with taking care of Abbie and the girls next door Dixie Lou and Elle Mae. They are a joy to take care of. If I was younger I would love to open up a doggy daycare. I went and had my mammogram and they think they see something so tomorrow I have to go get an ultrasound. I am going to a new doctor and I really love him. It's been three years since Dr. Burns died. I still miss him. I just about have all of the outside work done so maybe I can work on bears again soon.  Next  Sunday  I am having a birthday dinner for Tom and his brother and sister. They were all born in October so we celebrate with one big dinner and get toge

Rachael

Once again it has been awhile. I have been really busy. Abbierose is doing really well. The kids next door got another puppy so Dixie has a sister now. Her name is Elle Mae. I call her tankels. She is going to be a big girl. So now I watch 3 puppies.  Plus I signed up to do a bear show. I almost have my bears done. I need to be more disciplined. Hopefully I get them done.
The blue birds are back. I will try and get pictures tomorrow. They are so beautiful.  Abbie ate some watermelon today. She really liked it. That will help get water into her.

Some older bears

We had to take Abbierose to the doctor today. She has a urinary tract infection. The doctor put her on antibiotics so she should be feeling better soon.   It is very humid today. Had to shut it up and turned the air on.   Mama and papa are finally back. I had almost given up on them. They came to the fence gate wanting their bread. They are just too cute   We are getting so many new people in the neighborhood and new dogs. I am really getting tired of telling people to pick up their dog poo when they walk the dogs. Some people jus don't get it.    I am going to try and work on a bear tomorrow..Every time I try to something else comes up but it is suppose to rain tomorrow so just maybe   :o)
I think summer is finally here. Just in time for memorial day. Abbie is doing pretty good. As long as we keep her on a tight schedule that really helps her. I get to cook and have everyone over Monday..Shocker...Something I enjoyed doing has turned into a big pain in my ass. Nobody helps do anything. I guess they all think I JUST LOVE DOING IT. Oh well...
well Easter went pretty good. My dinner turned out lovely. Everybody came. My only problem is my sister in law and her smoking. I have asked her to not smoke but she still does. She goes on the screened in porch. Abbie loves going out there and I don't want her around smoke. She has enough going wrong with her. Maybe I am wrong but I feel it is so disrespectful of her. So we will see what memorial day brings. It is finally getting warm here. It is so welcomed. It is suppose to be in the 80's on Thursday. I am going to enter a bear contest. Maybe that will motivate me. I don't know what is wrong with me anymore. Hopefully this warm weather will help. I wish she was tiny again.
I have everything done for my Easter dinner tomorrow except baking and decorating my cake. I cleaned all day yesterday and washed windows. Nobody will notice but I love a clean house. My poor Abbie is upset today. Her and Dixie haven't seen each other in a while. Dixie saw that Abbie was on her porch last evening and come running over. So I let her come in the little yard that is fenced in. She attacked Abbie. I knew this was going to happen when they got older.
Life has been pretty good this month. Abbie has had a good couple of weeks. Taking care of her is a 24 hour job,but is so worth it. She has the sweetest personality and is so happy. The ducks are back. hopefully spring is coming soon. I have been feeling pretty good lately. My only trouble is my throat. It is hard to swallow most of the time. I guess that is a symptom of the disease. I have been busy getting ready for Easter. I am having everyone over for dinner. Lots to do. Abbie sitting and waiting for her bff to come out and play.
Abbie has had 2 pretty good days. We had to up her medicine. Last week her legs weren't working the best. She is such a happy little girl. No matter what she goes through she is still happy. I sure hope we have her a long time. This autoimmune diseases has left me so tired anymore. Hopefully when the weather breaks and I can get in the sun I'll feel better.
Abbie is doing okay. She has to eat sitting up and she has to sit for awhile afterwards so gravity can work to pull her food down her throat. And she has to eat 4 small meals a day . This is just to much for a little 9 month old to go through.
Finally got my bears head done. Everything else is sewn. Just have to put her together  :O)
Well the doctor put her on a stomach pill. He wants us to go see an gastrotologist. We go in a week.
The other symptom of abbies disease has shown its ugly head. Her esophagus is bigger then normal. So she has a greater chance of throwing up and aspirating it. You can tell she has acid. She goes to the doctor tomorrow . Hopefully he'll put her on a stomach pill.

Abbie is still doing good. Playing and acting like a crazy girl. I started spring cleaning tonight. Maybe that will help my mood. Went to the new doctor today. Didn't tell me anything new. Just gave me a steroid mouth rinse. So we'll see. I have to go back in 6 weeks. My regular doctor could have done that.
well they kept Abbie over night and called in the morning. They said the barium went through so no obstruction. They said she was walking and we could come and get her at 4:00. When we got there they brought her out and she was dragging her ... self all the way. She couldn't walk. She was in worse shape then when we left her. The only reason we went there is our vet wasn't in on Wednesday. So we took her home. We made a sling out of a towel and helped her walk. Got up Thursday and called our vet. She said to bring her right in. She called another hospital and got us in to see a doctor that would run tests on her. The last test he ran was a shot they gave her. If it was the disease he thought it was she would get up and walk. And that is exactly what she did. She has myasthenia gravis. It is manageable with medicine. We gave her one pill that night and one this morning. She is back to normal, running jumping just like nothing ever happened. Fabulous doctors and wonderful ho
My sweet baby is in the hospital. When we got up this morning she was having a little trouble walking. Got worse as day went on. then she was throwing up. took her to hospital they did x-rays. The think she ate something and it has wrapped around her colon. They are giving her barium tonight and taking x-rays every hour to see how it moves through. She'll have to have surgery.
Snow snow snow....we got another 8 inches this morning. I can't wait for spring!!!! Abbie enjoyed it though. Her and Dixie got to play yesterday. They had a blast. They are two little girls that really love each other. They were both in the hospital at the same time to get spayed. Abbie went first. The staff said when they brought Abbie out  Dixie ran over to her and gave her a kiss. I didn't feel bad today but this evening I feel horrible. I should go to bed but I'm not tired. Abbie is asleep so I should go down to the studio and work. I almost have my bear done. Just have to joint her. I'll see if I can post a few pics.
I am so sick of this cold weather. The older I get the more I can't tolerate it. I have to say I don't miss walking the dog in this. Abbie is not great on a leash yet. We went and got our hair cut today. My brother mike's first wife does it. How sad is that I have more respect for her than the ones that are current. I grew up under Merrie Ellen's wing. I love her and she is a big part of my life. Abbie and Dixie haven't been able to see each other and play. When it below zero neither want to go out. They are both missing each other. They love each other and love to play. I feed the birds every day bread and seed. I put fruit out for the deer. This weather is so hard on them. I seen the blue bird today. I hope love come back and nest again. What fun watching the babies.
Here is my lookback from facebook https://www.facebook.com/lookback/
I went and got my biopsy. What a horrible experience. The nurse took a piece of gauze and pulled my tongue out and to the left..I had to stay that way  for about 10 minutes. The doctor took a hunk of my tongue. When the numbness went away man oh man I was in so much pain all I could get down was ice cream. It hurt to just move my mouth let alone chew. The biopsy showed I have an auto immune disease. My body is attacking itself. I don't feel bad at all so we will see.
